GP-winner at two, three and four star level. That is El Torreo de Muze in a nutshell. His genes already showed the best from his birth on. Sire Taran de la Pomme is the half-brother of Glock's London (ex-Carembar de Muze) and Golden Hawk (ex-Figo de Muze). The performance genes on the dam's side are supplied by Funky Music (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles), who competed at international level with Ann Carton-Grootjans and is now actively used in breeding.

As a young horse, El Torreo already showed fragments of his abilities with a number of great results in the Belgian stallion competition, something he later only confirmed at international level. In 2018, at just eight years of age, he won the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek and Arezzo and in 2019 he added wins in the GP of Lier and the World Cup of Rabat. Even in the short season of 2020, he won a 1.45m class in Lier ridden by Bernardo Alves. In 2021 he hit the ground running again. He won the GP4* in Bourg-en-Bresse, France. Also in 2022, he gathered just under EUR 40,000 in prize money. BWP has already declared him an Elite stallion.

He also seems particularly promising in breeding. His oldest offspring impresses each time. From his oldest crop (born 2014), 12 horses (out of 18 registered offspring) are active in the sport, including Olivia de Muze N who in the meantime jumps at level 1.60m. From his crop born in 2015, eight offspring (out of only eleven registered offspring) are also performing in the sport. Incidentally, his first major crop only saw the light of day in 2016. So there is still a lot of talent in the pipeline. Think, for example, of Quelmek de Muze, Quinesse DW and Quel Torreo T. In the Horsetelex ranking for stallions with at least 20 offspring in the international sport, the eldest of which are no more than nine years old, El Torreo is at the top of the rankings in early 2023. Clearly, the best is yet to come.
