Bamako again produces Nations Cup winner

The Nations Cup at the CSIO5* in St. Gallen was won by the home team, Switzerland, with Steve Guerdat and Albführen Iashin Sitte (s. Bamako de Muze, 4/1) in their ranks. Thomas De Wit rode Ecuador DW Z (s. El Torreo de Muze) to third place in a 1.45m class.

Calgary

The five-star season has also begun at Spruce Meadows. Jos Verlooy and Nixon van ’t Meulenhof (s. Denzel van ’t Meulenhof) immediately secured eighth place in the Grand Prix.

At two-star level, we noted podium finishes at 1.40m for Lucy Deslauriers riding Starlet (ex-Gliludium Riverland, s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) and Hallie Grimes riding Margriet de Mariposa (s. Nabab de Rêve).

Cannes

The GCT/GCL leg in Cannes yielded a second place for Simon Delestre and Olga van de Kruishoeve (s. El Torreo de Muze) in a 1.45m class. Giacomo Casadei followed in fifth place with Raffinesse (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles). The latter pair also finished third in a ranking class.

St. Tropez

Another outstanding performance from Megane Moissonnier and Qoup de Coeur de Muze (s. Mosito van het Hellehof). This time they finished fourth in the GP4* at St. Tropez. In the supporting classes, Jérôme Guery scored with Indigo (s. I’m Special de Muze) and Kendra Claricia Brinkop with Que Passa de Regor (s. Scendro).

At two-star level, Nicola Philippaerts raced to eighth place in the Grand Prix riding B Rockabilly Z (s. Bamako de Muze). João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes De Lima took third place at 1.40m level on Sagan Z (s. Scendro).

Deauville

At the CSIO3* in Deauville, Gudrun Patteet and Sea Coast Qarvaljo d’Or (s. Mosito van het Hellehof, 0/4) were part of the silver-medal-winning Belgian team in the Nations Cup. Nicolas Layec secured fifth place in a ranking class with Fee de Caryan (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles).

Tubbergen

Gerwilmer Ton and Dwivoli van de Groote Kamps Z (s. Denzel van ’t Meulenhof) finished third in the GP2* at Tubbergen, having previously secured fifth place in a ranking class. Lucas Porter rode Vigakata (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) to fifth place over 1.45m and Marriet Smit-Hoekstra won a 1.40m class on Poker de Mariposa TN (s. Nabab de Rêve).

USA

The CSI4* in Upperville saw Sloane Coles and Ninja JW van de Moerhoeve (s. Elvis Ter Putte) take third place in the Grand Prix. They also finished second in a 1.50m class. In Mill Spring, Kayla Savard and Viento (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) finished sixth in the GP2*.

Other

Jerry Van Damme and Vainqueur Z (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) claimed victory in a 1.40m class in Opglabbeek. Klaus Otte-Wiese rode Sweet N'Sour JW van’t Meulenhof (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) to second place in a 1.40m class in Balve. Finally, in Babolna, Hungary, Sándor Szász took fourth place over 1.40m with Virginia R. (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles).
