In memoriam: El Torreo de Muze

It is with a heavy heart that we write this message. This morning, El Torreo de Muze sadly passed away. The 13-year-old grey stallion was on his way to the GCT/GCL in Monaco to compete in the five-star competition, but a severe colic attack decided otherwise.

With his passing, we bid farewell to one of our biggest stars. The son of Taran de la Pomme out of the top mare Funky Music was always among the best in his too-short career. As a 3-year-old, he was approved for BWP and that marked the beginning of an amazing career. In the stallion competition, he immediately showed his talents under Walter Lelie. Later, Bernardo Alves took place in the saddle, resulting in many international successes. Their palmares includes victories in the GPs of Lier, Opglabbeek, Arezzo and Bourg-en-Bresse, as well as the World Cup in Rabat.

This year had also started prosperously, with recent wins in the 1.50m and third place in the GP4* of Geesteren. In total, they won no less than 11 ranking classes, not to mention the many placings. Unfortunately, fate has thrown a spanner in the works. We will miss him.
