The most exciting results last weekend were booked in sunny Mexico. Fidux (f. Malito de Rêve) made no mistakes in either of three five star classes he participated in resulting in a first, second and fourth place with Spanish rider Eduardo Alvarez Aznar.

Cadeau de Muze (f. Nabab de Rêve) equally impressed. With Irishman Denis Lynch, Cadeau jumped to victory in the first leg of the Global Champions League as a part of the Miami Celtics-team.

Also in Mexico, Glock’s London (ex-Carembar de Muze, f. Nabab de Rêve) illuminated his return with some excellent results. With Gerco Schröder, London finished seventh in the GP-qualifier and sixth in the GP.

WEF

Also on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, during the penultimate week of the Winter Equestrian Festival, Freestyle de Muze (f. Lord Z) and Richie Moloney showed their qualities once more. Together, they took third place in the GP4*/

Bonheiden

Closer to home, there was international competition in Bonheiden and Lier, with a lot of interesting results as a consequence. We start at the CSI2* in Bonheiden, where one of the first Elvis ter Putte-descendants is starting to make a name for himself at the highest level. Only nine years old is Juristo van het Hagenhof, but with Frederik Cattebeke in the saddle, the placed fifth in the GP. Tum Play de Jouas (f. Querlybet Hero) grabbed a fifth place in a 1.45m-class and Capiche ter Elzen (Bamako de Muze x Vigo d’Arsouilles) was victorious over 1.35m with Sven Van Dijck.

The classes for young horses delivered some fine performances as well. New Star Quality (f. Nabab de Rêve) and Caroline De Laet became fifth and sixth in the classes for five-year-olds. I am OK (f. I’m Special de Muze) won a class and Nelson van de Seven Oaks (f. Inshallah de Muze) grabbed a second and a fourth place. Finally, No Bell (f. Elvis ter Putte) was piloted to a fifth place by Steve Lefevre.

Messi vd Bisschop (f. Bamako de Muze) jumped to a nice fifth place (six-year-olds). The same rider, Bernardo Mathias, but another horse in the classes for seven-year-olds. Folie van het Hulst (f. Nabab de Rêve) brought home a victory and a fourth place.

Lier

Same story in Lier, where Christian Weier and Global (f. Nabab de Rêve) became second in the GP. Patrik Spits and Bellissimo Z (f. Bamako de Muze) were placed ninth. A load of great performances in the classes for young horses were also present. For example, Mistral van de Vogelzang (f. Elvis ter Putte, second place) with Benny Naessens, Lolita Vanderyse and Maximus (f. Malito de Rêve, third), Ever So Clever Merelsnest Z (f. Elvis ter Putte, ninth) with Bart Anthonissen, Hendrik Denutte on Elvis De Wijnendale Z (f. Elvis ter Putte, fourth and tenth), Monalisa van ’t Paradijs (f. Bamako de Muze, sixth and seventh) with Astrid Rooms, Pikap de Muze (v. Ponsee V, fourth) with Christophe Vanderhasselt, Very High de Muze (f. Vigo d’Arsouilles, third) and Philippe Lejeune, Mercedes DV (f. Bamako de Muze, second) ridden by Brecht Bille, Impossible II Z (v. Inshallah de Muze, sixth) and Merci Mille Fois van het Meulenhof (f. Elvis ter Putte, tenth) with Astrid Rooms.

Italia

We end our overview with an Italian chapter. Paolo Adorno and his eight-year-old Nabab-progeny Fer Z.G. won the GP of Cervia and grabbed on the way also a fifth place in a 1.40m-class. Also in Cervia, Filippo Lupis rode Gotham City PL (f. Filou de Muze) to a double victory and a second placing in the classes for six-year-olds. At the same age level, Demantur de Muze (f. Diamant de Semilly) delivered a second, fourth and tenth placing as well. Finally, in Arezzo, Gitano van Berkenbroeck finished third in a 1.45m-class with Juan Carlos Garcia.

Champions by Denzel

To finish off this article, some quick words about Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof, who is starting to make a name for himself as a ‘champion maker’. In Belgium (Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof) and in The Netherlands (Ipsthar) he sired one of the winners of the respective stallion competitions. A great start of his breeding career.
