Stal de Muze dominates Belgian Championships for Young Horses

BC Gesves

What an amazing week for Stal de Muze at the Belgian Championships for Young Horses. The week-end already started well on Saturday, in the final for four-year-olds, where our breeding product Perfect Edition de Muze (s. Gemini xx, Brent Van Damme) and Palmiro de Muze (s. Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof, Robinson Maupiler) were crowned champions. Fletcher Ter Wilgen Z, co-owned by Stal de Muze, also became a champion, as did Hopes Are High 111 (s. Scendro, Thomas Thometcheck) and Denzelnoor Z (s. Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof, Peter Schollaert). Also present in the final were progeny of Vigo d’Arsouilles (Virunga H), Fantomas de Muze (Primavera v/d Dennehoeve) and Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof (Pico Belle van Twee Eiken and Jessy Belle de Muze).

Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof’s offspring also impressed in the Championship for five-year-olds thanks to the bronze medal of Steven Verwaeren and Dylano van de Heide Z. Thibaut Huyvaert and Orphy van de Kruishoeve (s. Elvis Ter Putte) followed in eighth place, just ahead of Caroline De Laet on Orelia van ‘t Edelweishof (s. Nabab de Rêve). Kasanova de la Pomme (Origi Horta), Elvis Ter Putte (Olympia van het Eikenhof) and Scendro (Ovito van de Looise Heide) also delivered some representatives in the final.

Last year Mr. Jones (s. I’m Special de Muze) claimed the title at the BC for six-year-olds, ridden by Stef Bossaerts, this year the duo grabbed a great silver medal. Che de Kezeg Z (s. Glock’s London, ex-Carembar de Mue) and Cyril Cools jumped to bronze. Arnaud Gaublomme and Esprit d’Intro Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte) finished in ninth place. Mojito van de Meiboom (s. Malito de Rêve), Mithras de Regor (s. Elvis Ter Putte), Melia de Regor (s. Elvis Ter Putte), Mombay (s. Elvis Ter Putte), Fantomas Van Beek Z (s. Fantomas de Muze) and Great Britain V (s. Nabab de Rêve) were also qualified for this final.

Finally, in the Championship for six-year-olds, Katrijn Van Hoecke and our breeding product Next Funky de Muze (s. Elvis Ter Putte) became sixth. Next Funky is a half-sister to our stallion El Torreo de Muze. Elvis Ter Putte also sired two other finalists, Nancledra and Navaro van ‘t Verahof. I’m Special de Muze (In Style N) and Bamako de Muze (Namaco van ‘t Keldertje) each sired one.

Lier

El Torreo himself emerged victorious in both the GP and the Small GP of Lier, ridden by Bernardo Alves. El Torreo therefore keeps confirming his amazing potential. Also in the GP, Evelien (s. Nabab de Rêve) and Gaetan Stalpaert jumped to second place. In a 1.40m-class, there was a second spot for Joris Vergauwen on Tresor d’Arsouilles (s. Taran de la Pomme).

In the classes for young horses, Laura Lorenzetti impressed, riding King Westleven Z (s. Kasanova de la Pomme) to several placings in the classes for five-year-olds, as did Hanne Mertens on Orvieto di Fer (s. Elvis Ter Putte). Wilm Vermeir and Hotshot (s. Glock’s London, ex-Carembar de Muze) were clear three days in a row in the classes for seven-year-olds. In the latter age category, we also noted some fine rounds from Bautista Rodriguez Debray on Caractere d’Argent (s. Elvis Ter Putte).

Other

In French Deauville, Uraeus Blanc HDC (s. Nabab de Rêve) was piloted to a second place in a 1.40m-class by Patrice Delaveau. Also in France, but in Arnas Champburcy, Cyril Bouvard finished second in the GP with Victoria d’Argent (s. Nabab de Rêve) and in the GP2* of Bolesworth, Michael Whitaker ended ninth on Freud del Cabanon (s. Filou de Muze). Finally, in Austrian Wiener Neustadt, the five-year-olds Jotage B (s. Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof, Matthias Mock) and Vroom de la Pomme Z (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles, David Horvath) showed their potential.
