In front of a crowded audience in the Club de Campo de Madrid Arena the English, Robert Whitaker and the Dutch rider Gerco Schroder won the Puissance Competition. Whitaker and Schroder reached a 2,15 meters high obstacle with respectively Finbarr V and Eurocommerce Acapulco.

One of the main goals of Robert Whitaker in the CSI Madrid 2007 was the Puissance Competition with his horse Finbarrr V which is specialised in this kind of competition. “I have this gelding especially for this type of competition”, said Whitaker during the press conference. When asking if it is a good investment having a horse only for one kind of competition he answered : “There are many Puissance competitions in England with important prizes. Last year I got more than 30,000 euros with him, so I definitely think it is a good deal to devote him for the Puissance.”
